Wasserfall Mosel

Move, relax, enjoy

Bernkastel-Kues and the Mosel landscape are as various as you want them to be. You want "action" and movement? No problem. You decide whether you want to ride a mountain bike over the vineyards or accompany the Mosel river on an e-bike. Rowing or standup paddling - that's also a possibility. And of course you can also relax. Sitting in the sun or spending the day with a good book - it's all lovely.

Wine Experiences

"Wine Experiences" in Bernkastel-Kues does not only mean enjoying excellent and often internationally recognized top wines, but also exploring and feeling its preconditions, stages of development and components.

Weinerlebnisse an der Mosel

Whether it is a hike through the vineyards or a visit to a wine press, a visit to the wine museum or the vinotheque in Kues - in the "international city of grapevines and wine" you can experience in many different ways why the river, landscape, soil and viticulture form an ideal symbiosis on the Mosel river, from which a special "drop" is created.

Fahrrad fahren an der Mosel

Bicycle ride

The Mosel valley offers excellent conditions for bicycle tours of all kinds. Those who want to cycle leisurely along the river to discover picturesque little wine villages and perhaps have a glass of wine and something to eat can do so on developed cycle paths for hundreds of kilometers.

Others would like to take side trips to the high altitudes of the Hunsrück and the Eifel and can do so under their own power or with the help of electric bicycles. Public buses provide transportation for all cyclists several times a day to the Mosel towns in the area or even to the Volcanic Eifel. On the Maare-Mosel cycle path you can cycle for hours down to the Mosel on the old railroad line over viaducts and through tunnels - fun for the whole family.

Hiking

Whether it's a short walk or a full-day hike - Bernkastel-Kues and its surroundings offer guests numerous hiking opportunities. The network of trails is well signposted and developed. The ascents from the Moselle valley to the Hunsrück are particularly attractive and demanding - but of course it is also possible the other way round... Or you can hike along the Moselle in a relaxed way. We will be happy to help you plan a group hike and also take care of catering or return trips.

Excursions

By car you can reach Trier, the oldest city in Germany founded by the Romans, in just over half an hour. Follow the traces of Roman history on the Mosel river, visit the famous Porta Nigra, the amphitheater, thermal baths, wine presses and the Trier Cathedral, which was also built on Roman foundations.

The Moselle River in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (20 min. from Trier) offers an interesting contrast to the German part. From there it is also not far to the city of Luxembourg with its French ambience, excellent restaurants and a diverse cultural offer.

For lovers of the Medieval times we recommend a visit to the "Reichsburg" in Cochem and the castle of Eltz near Koblenz.

An excursion to the Eifel region with its volcanic landscape can be combined - for horsepower enthusiasts - with a visit to the Nürburgring.
